Counts Palatine of the Rhine. Paris, January 21st and May 7th, 1861; Berlin, October, 1872. to the King of Prussia. Sales, Berlin, Novem­ber, 1824, and Paris, December nth (3 days), 1865. Their collection formerly kept at Zweibrucken, Mannheim, and Dusseldorf, was transferred, in
1799, to Munich (Pinakothek). It has been since considerably increased from the Aretin and Schfinbom cabinets. Johann Christoph, Baron von Aretin (1773— 1824), was appointed Librarian to the Munich Library in 1810. He resided at Allersbach, near Vilshofen, Lower Bavaria. His collection, sold at Munich, July 5th, &c., 1830 (8,232 lots).
