F.R.S. 1738— 1800. Sales, King’s, Feb­ruary 22nd (3 days), 1798 ; Richardson’s April 29th (2 days), 1799 ; February 3rd (18 days), and March 3rd (13 days), 1800. Sir ’W illiam presented to the Trustees of the British Museum (1790-1799) Books, Manu­scripts, &c., chiefly biographical, consisting of about 1,900 volumes. The foundation of his collection was thepurchase of the accumu­lations of John Throsby, the historian of
Leicester (1740-1803).
